This one arrived in my inbox as a spam email with the subject line, “You lay down, and fall asleep within 5 minutes. Ending insomnia,” and a big picture of Dr. Oz and Rachael Ray. Neither Oz nor Ray is endorsing this product.
DO NOT purchase this product based on these FAKE celebrity endorsements!
Honestly, this is the first “sleep aid” scam I’ve seen, so it looks like our friendly con men are moving into new areas. How exciting! *sigh*
These folks have set the page up to look like a news media site, using a menu bar that includes categories like Fitness, Health, Beauty, Relationships, Diety, Fashion, Food, and Travel. The only thing is, EVERY one of those links leads to the same page – the page where you purchase their product.
They also feature “testi-phonials” that look like they were made by Facebook users. If you’ve been reading my other posts, you know where I’m going with this. These are actual Facebook accounts that have been pirated by the scammers.
It’s a serious problem for the people whose accounts they have pirated as they are then inundated with posts from people who want more information about their personal experience with all of the products their accounts have been used on. CLICK HERE to read more about this.
THE FREE TRIAL THAT IS NOT REALLY FREE
If you can find the find print and take the time to read it, you’ll discover that your “free” trial comes with an automatic enrollment in their auto-ship, auto-pay program. That means that, unless you cancel, the credit card you provided for the small shipping and handling fee will automatically be charged $79.95, plus shipping EVERY 30 DAYS!
That would make you LOSE SLEEP, no?
